Who better to talk about our region than the people who live here all year round? Those who are passionate about these landscapes and this gentle way of life, whether it was a gift from birth or the result of a holiday love affair. In this series, "Words from Ambassadors," we give the floor to four lovers and residents of our beautiful region. Each in turn will share with you their treasures, their passions, and their stories. And we begin right away with Ms. Raymonde Hugonnier and her own marvel: the village of Évenos.

A few words about the ambassador

Raymonde Hugonnier is a local figure in the Provence Sud Sainte Baume region. Her passion for her village, Evenos, led her to become mayor of this small town in the early 2000s.

In addition to its interest in promoting what many in the region call "Nèbre," it continues to be driven by the desire to show everyone, residents and visitors alike, the beauty of our region, the richness of Provençal culture, and the majesty of the ruins of yesteryear.

Focus on the old village of Evenos

Through this video and as we wander through the cobbled streets of Nèbre (the name given to the old village in the municipalityof Evenos), she tells us about its unique features: from the architecture of its old houses to its cultural heritage, such as the church and the ruins of its castle, not to mention the view that awaits us there... Everything is perfect for daydreaming.

Indeed, at the top of the town is one of the most beautiful panoramas in the Var. Here, openings resembling windows in a stone wall open up the horizon towards the sea, offering a breathtaking view that seems to link the hills of the hinterland to the blue of the Mediterranean.

This charm has turned more than one head, and many artists and authors have been inspired by it to create some of their works. And it is here, in the shade of a pine tree and in the summer coolness of the ancient rocks, that we invite you, too, to come and lose yourself, to fully explore this old village that will certainly not leave you indifferent...
