Autumn festivals in Provence Sud Sainte Baume

A blend of cultural and natural traditions

Here, celebrations are a delightful blend of cultural heritage and natural wonders.

In autumn, the beautiful plants of our region take center stage. How can we talk about Provence Sud Sainte Baume without mentioning the vine? Planted on terraces, bathed year-round by the Mediterranean sun and treated like a queen by the winegrowers, they enable us to produce the local nectar par excellence: wine. And while the grape harvest marks the end of summer, in autumn it's the tasting of grands crus that we celebrate. The same goes for the olive tree, the other emblem of our destination. After the olives have had plenty of time to take on their summer colors, it's the traditional pressing of the olives, and more particularly the oil that emerges, that is celebrated every year.

In terms of culture, the return of the off-season is synonymous with calm, serenity and gentleness. It's an opportunity for everyone to remember the customs of our land. Every year, we highlight the trades of yesteryear, discover local know-how and even prepare for the festive season. Not that we're looking forward to bringing out the Christmas tree and assembling the thirteen desserts, but decorating is something that needs to be organized. The santons that will adorn the nativity scenes in each home are also celebrated in the purest Provencal tradition.
