Centre d'Art Sébastien
Outstanding cultural space, the Centre d'Art Sébastien is set up in an old capers factory from the XIXth century. The center was labeled Visual Arts by the Departmental council, it since then hosts presitigous contemporary art exhibitions.
Description
Converted into an art gallery in 1993, this center labeled Visual arts by the departmental council since then hosts prestigious contemporary art exhibitions (César, Miro Ziem, Briata...).
The celebration of Sébastien:
The Centre d'art Sébastien keeps and shows the creations of Gabriel Sébastien Simonet alias "Sébastien", an artist with a worldwide reputation. The artist whose nickname was the "magician of the Vallauris land" is for example the designer of the Palme d'Or of the Cannes Festival. 70 paintings, 20 terracotta, 20 bronzes, 20 watercolours, 30 drawings and 22 pieces of pottery by Sébastien are shown at the art gallery.
