Summer and historical festivities
As August 15 approaches, new holidaymakers - those who don't yet know our Provence Sud Sainte Baume destination - are astonished. "What time are the fireworks tonight?" is the phrase every tourist office hears on Assumption Day. Well, there won't be any fireworks tonight, for a very local reason.
At the end of the Second World War, the Provence Landings led to the liberation of our villages. This took place on August 15, 1944. That's why, for decades now, this day is not only Christian for the people of Provence, it's historic!
So, while festivities are always organized on Assumption Day, fireworks take place in most of the communes in our territory on the day of their delivery:
- August 18 for Signes and Riboux ;
- August 20 for Le Beausset, La Cadière d'Azur and Le Castellet;
- August 21 for Bandol and Evenos ;
- August 22 for Saint-Cyr-sur-mer ;
- August 23 for Sanary-sur-mer.

Saint-Cyr Vintage: welcome to the sixties!
Every year, during the week-long anniversary of the Liberation of Saint-Cyr-sur-mer, the town offers locals and visitors alike a chance to immerse themselves in its history. It ' s a trip back to the 60s, thanks to the participants' wardrobes, the parades held throughout the town and, of course, the festive spirit in every alley!
Here's the program for a Saint-Cyri vintage day:
- vintage car show to dream about ;
- old-time music (folk, rock, jazz, blues) to get your groove on;
- a parade of magnificent pin-ups to immerse yourself in the fashions of the era;
- and, of course, food trucks!
A moment rich in entertainment and history, to enjoy with friends or family!
