Sanary-sur-Mer's Christmas illuminations have become a not-to-be-missed event at the end of the year on the Var coast. And it has to be said that the town and its residents pull out all the stops! With a forest of fir trees in the center of town and aerial light decorations, the promenades are dressed up to bring joy and magic.
But what really sets Sanary-sur-mer apart from its neighbors are the dinghies moored in the harbor. These are adorned with garlands and lanterns to create a superb tableau of lights set against the Mediterranean. The festive atmosphere is also supported by street entertainment that warms up the winter and reinforces the conviviality of our destination. Christmas illuminations in Sanary-sur-mer
As the town's harbour, shopping streets and, indeed, every corner of the village are decked out in lights, a festive program brightens them up a little more all winter long. Among the must-see events every year are :
- The illuminated pointus: these traditional boats, decked out for the occasion, offer a unique spectacle, floating gently in the glittering harbor.
- Street performers, musicians and costumed actors liven up the avenues with colorful parades.
- The Christmas market: a craft fair offering visitors local products, gift ideas and gourmet specialities for the festive season.
- Santa's village: an area where children can take part in fun workshops, take photos in an enchanted setting and even meet the owner of the premises, Santa Claus.
