White wine, a regional delicacy
When we think of a vacation in the Var, we tend to immediately visualize this image: an aperitif with friends in the Provençal mas, just before the barbecue planned for this evening. We're enjoying local olives, a few fougasses from the local boulangerie and, of course, a good glass of wine. And what color is this wine in the collective imagination? Rosé, of course.
Well, Bandol Provence Sud Sainte Baume wines don't stop at just one color. While the red is characteristic of our land and goes magnificently well with Provencal cuisine, the white is a pearl of elegance. A sappy, full-bodied, refined cru that pairs perfectly with a salad of fresh figures sprinkled with local goat's cheese. Or with sea bream, sar or freshly grilled Mediterranean lobster.
In short, while the rosé/swimming pool combination is the most common, dare to think outside the box and discover new flavours with Var white wines!
Ah! my little white wine from Le Beausset
It's for all these reasons that the commune of Le Beausset has chosen to let this color shine. It's a way of combining culture and gourmet delights by putting a regional wine wonder in the spotlight. So, every April, the village welcomes winemakers from all over the département for an epicurean celebration.
With tastings of white wines from Provence, a convivial meal on site and entertainment for the whole family, this wine event is sure to appeal to locals and the curious alike. And for the occasion, some of the town's retailers and restaurateurs are even playing along, offering a few surprises... A participatory event, open to all, whether you're a novice or an amateur, a gourmet or a simple gourmand!
